Welcome to the Guardians Youth Lacrosse Girls Program Page

All of our girls' teams play in the Mass Bay Girls Lacrosse League (MBGLL). Click here to be directed to their site.

Our program offers teams for girls in 1st through 8th grade. The main season is spring with additional season options if there is interest.

**Please fill out our Additional Lacrosse Survey if you are interested in Fall or Winter lax.

GYL will field teams in four age levels determined by school grade

U9 - Grades 1 & 2   /   U11 - Grades 3 & 4

Each team plays with 7 girls on the field plus a goalie and will be played on a smaller field

U13 - Grades 5 & 6    /    15 - Grades 7 & 8

Each team plays with 11 girls on the field plus a goalie

SPRING: Indoor practices start in March, 1-2 times per week.  Outdoor practices and games start in April and continue through mid-June. Games are Sunday at either Hillside Field or a neighboring town.

Each team is capped at 20 players. A waiting list is utilized until there is enough players to field another team.

Registration for our spring program opens in November.

FALL:  GYL will offer skills-based clinics for all age levels from September through October. Sessions are 1-2 days a week including scrimmages.  Players must have full equipment to participate.

Registration for Fall opens in July.

WINTER: Gyl will offer winter lax for any age level. If there are enough players to field a team, weekly games are held at Fore Kicks in Marlboro.

Registration for Winter opens in October.

*It is necessary to be a member of US Lacrosse in order to participate in our programs.  The cost of an Annual Membership to US Lacrosse for a youth player is $30.00.

**A player's game playing time will be influenced by many things. Positions can be determined by a combination of skills, attendance, and overall positive attitude toward teammates, opponents, coaches, and the sport of lacrosse. Our program strives for safety, skills, and team play- coaches teach in practice and implement in games, so practice is important! Players must be committed to attending the majority of their practices and all games. For players engaged in multiple spring sports, GYL believes strongly in a "games before practices" philosophy: your lacrosse game is more important than a conflicting practice in another sport, and vice versa. The occasional missed lacrosse practice to attend a game in another sport is understandable, and occasional conflicts are unavoidable at times. We hope such absences will be minimized, but in such an event, you must communicate with your coach.**
